Development & automation

Software and automation that fit your processes.

Butler Office develops custom applications, connects systems via interfaces and automates recurring work – pragmatic and maintainable.

Starting point

When an Excel file carries the business.

Almost every company has one: the spreadsheet without which nothing works. It has grown over years, contains formulas that only one person understands, and is sent around by e-mail. Alongside it, data is transferred by hand from one program to another – every day, prone to errors and without anyone questioning it.

Standard software solves a lot, but never everything. Gaps remain between the systems and are filled with manual work. That costs time, causes errors and makes the business dependent on individual people.

We close these gaps. Sometimes an automation between two existing programs is enough, sometimes a small application of your own is needed. What matters is that the solution remains understandable and can be maintained.

What Butler Office takes on

From the interface to your own application.

We start small, deliver something usable early on and expand what proves itself. The source code of your solution is documented transparently.

Custom software & business software

We develop applications for processes that no standard product covers: order processing, planning, data capture, reporting. The first step is often an MVP – a lean, working version that lets you check whether the idea holds up in everyday use.

Web applications & customer portals

Browser-based applications, internal tools and portals in which your customers can view data, upload documents or enter orders – with user management, roles and a clean connection to your other systems.

APIs, interfaces & data integration

We connect programs that previously knew nothing of each other: shop and accounting, form and CRM, time recording and billing. Data is entered once and flows to where it is needed – traceably and with error handling.

Workflow automation

We automate recurring tasks such as notifications, approvals, reports or data reconciliation with tools such as n8n. The result is processes that run through reliably and can be adapted when the process changes.

ERP extensions

We adapt existing business software to your needs – for example with extensions for ERPNext: additional fields, reports, document templates, workflows or connections to third-party systems.

AI assistants & workshops

We use artificial intelligence where it is of concrete use: knowledge assistants that answer questions from your own documents, chatbots for recurring enquiries or support in processing texts. In workshops we work out sensible use cases with you, along with a responsible approach to your data.

Typical use cases

When it pays off.

Data is entered twice

The same details end up in two systems by hand. In future an interface does this automatically and without typing errors.

An Excel file has become too big

Several people work on it at the same time, versions get mixed up. A small web application creates order.

Customers should be able to do things themselves

A portal accepts enquiries, documents or bookings – at any time, without anyone having to retype anything.

You would like to use AI but do not know what for

A workshop clarifies where its use pays off, which data is suitable and what makes a sensible start.

Who it is for

Is this right for you?

For SMEs and associations with processes that today depend on manual work, spreadsheets or the knowledge of individual people.

You do not need your own IT department for this. What matters is someone who knows the process from the business side – we take on the technical part.

How we proceed
  • Understand the process – how does it work today, and where are the sticking points?
  • Outline the solution – automation, extension or a custom application?
  • First version – usable early on, tested together.
  • Expansion – step by step, guided by actual use.
  • Maintenance – upkeep, adjustments and further development.
